Me? I swung the great sword. I know, it’s basic! But it’s also very rewarding and fun to play.
The big sword not only looks cool, but it offers a ton of control for hunters. It’s powerful, but not clunky. He also has several counter-abilities, which makes combat even more engaging when you switch from offensive to defensive maneuvers in the blink of an eye. It’s also flashy! There’s nothing quite like sheathing your sword and then letting it rip like you’re straight out of a samurai anime.
As a reminder, the game’s producer shared that the Longsword was the most popular weapon in the demo, followed by the Great Swords, and then the Hunting Horn (which got a huge buff in ascend). So it’s no surprise that the long sword is a popular response.
After I mastered the long sword, I began to gravitate towards the hunting horn. I really want to understand when I start playing more with bands online, and I’m still determined to learn the dual blades inside and out just for the style factor alone. Then there’s the light rifle, as I should probably have a ranged weapon in my repertoire for good measure.
