One person is in custody following an active shooting situation in Everglades National Park in South Florida on Sunday, according to a message sent from the park’s official Twitter account.
Authorities reported that a man shot at park rangers, causing closures in the area. No injuries were reported.
Less than an hour after their initial Twitter post, park officials announced the suspect had been taken into custody.
Authorities are asking people to continue to avoid the Flamingo area.

Active marksman incident at Everglades National Park. Main park road (SR 9336) closed for public safety. Visitors / residents of Flamingo must shelter on site. The suspect is a 33-year-old white male. Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies coordinate the response.
