Secretly nerfed FFAR in Warzone Season 2 with major attachment changes

It was a surprise when the FFAR was not mentioned in the reloaded patch notes for Warzone Season 2, with players expecting a nerf. But, the weapon was actually nerfed – due to major changes to the attachments.

While this will require additional testing to verify, players immediately noticed that their FFAR loading was less efficient. Specifically, the ADS time on the weapon is much longer.

Warzone streamer and NRG member JoeWo was one of the first to spread the word about a possible FFAR nerf, assignment “From one game it seems the AUG is still GOD LIKE and the FFAR is terrible now … the opposite of the patch notes.”

In the patch notes, the Cold War AUG was the only weapon specifically targeted with a nerf, and rightly so, as it dominated the meta.

FFAR stealth nerf in Warzone?

But, according to JoeWo, the change has not been significant, while the FFAR – supposedly intact – is “terrible now”.

And he wasn’t the only one. FaZe Clan streamer Swagg also said he felt the AUG had not been “hit”, while the FFAR now had “slow ADS”.

Changes to FFAR attachments

According to YouTube JGOD, which has done its own tests, the FFAR has been “pretty tough.” The reason is that the Takedown Cannon, a popular choice for the FFAR has been changed.

“It doesn’t help with bullet speed anymore, I tested that,” JGOD explains, “and it doesn’t help with strafing speed, so it’s a lot slower.” The reason for the slower ADS time can also be attributed to the Salvo 50 Rnd fast charger, which now has huge ADS penalties.

For this reason, you’ll want to avoid the Fast Mags and Takedown Cannon on the FFAR from now on.

The weapon damage appears to be the same, so it’s just the attachment changes that make all the difference in Warzone right now.

These attachment changes will also affect the M16, so the same rules apply here as well. It’s time to rework a lot of your FFAR loadouts.
