Nets and NBA address Kevin Durant’s feud with Michael Rapaport

From engraver accounts to Twitter oxen with random unverified trolls, Kevin Durant has never seen a social media fight he didn’t like. But his latest forced the Nets to have a long talk with their superstar player, and could even put him in hot water with the NBA.

After actor Michael Rapaport goes public with a number of private social media messages Durant sent him – some of which were misogynistic, homophobic and threatening – the league is aware of the situation and is evaluating the next step. It is not known if Durant will face fines.

Meanwhile, a source from the team told The Post that the Nets have contacted the All-Star forward. The source declined to say who specifically spoke with Durant, and said the tenor of the conversation would be kept “internally.”

Durant wishes his comments to Rapaport stayed that way.

“Me and Mike talk crazier than that regularly and today he’s pissed off,” Durant tweeted. “My bad fucking microphone !!”

The two have clearly known each other for years, Durant having even provided the New York native with tickets to the NBA Finals while playing for Golden State. Rapoport actually shared a video in which he complained to Durant about the location of his seats.

But their recent feud appeared to begin in December when Rapaport weighed in on an interview the Nets forward did with Charles Barkley and the “NBA on TNT” team, following Barkley’s criticism of Durant.

“KD seemed deep in his feelings with the [NBA on TNT] the crew after the match, ”Rapoport tweeted. “DAMNIT he is super sensitive to everything. Don’t do the interview.

This seems to have triggered Durant, and the two argued for months in which he referred to Rapaport as “bh” and “d-head.” The actor pushed back, telling the Brooklyn star “to go help the kids in Brownsville, Brooklyn and stop being f-ing p—-“.

In the posts, Durant also mentioned that he finally told Rapaport “all you do is suck other men for attention”, called him a “piece of shit” and told her to “suck ad – k”.

He also mocked Rapaport’s unsuccessful attempt to sue Barstool founder David Portnoy – which prompted Portnoy to praise Durant for suing Rapaport – and even suggested that the actor’s wife did not respect him and threatened to “spit in the face.” He challenged Rapoport to meet him on West 17th St. at 10 a.m., or to provide his own address.

Now Durant – who hasn’t played since February 13, sidelined by hamstring strain – has to worry about more than his rehabilitation, explaining to his team.
