Four people killed in southern California shooting

At least people were killed in a shootout at a business in Orange, Calif. On Wednesday night, officials said.

Four people, including a child, were found dead when police arrived at the scene and two others, including a suspect, were transported with injuries, according to Lt. Jennifer Amat of the Orange Police Department.

Police said the situation had stabilized and “there is no threat to the public.”

They said there was also a shooting involving an officer after police responded around 5:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the city of about 140,000 people southeast of Los Angeles.

The location indicated by the police appeared to be a small commercial building. Aerial video showed police at the scene.

Further details were not immediately available.

Governor Gavin Newsom called the events “terrifying and heartbreaking” and said in a statement that “our hearts are with the families affected by this terrible tragedy tonight”.

U.S. Representative Katie Porters said she was monitoring developments.

“I am deeply saddened by reports of a mass shooting in Orange County, and I continue to keep the victims and their loved ones in my thoughts as we continue to learn more,” he said. she said in a statement. “My team and I will continue to monitor the situation closely.”
