As part of his spring 2021 collection for Mugler, designer Casey Cadwallader sent trompe-l’oeil jeans with strategically placed Lycra panels to create the illusion of a denim thong.
Bella Hadid and Irina Shayk modeled versions of the risqué look in the fashion house’s collectible film on Wednesday; Hadid is in light blue denim, Shayk is in white.
Hadid’s look was even sported in a see-through corset top that included a black censorship-style bar across the chest.
Those who wish to grab a dizzying pair of pants can purchase them for around $ 574 from Mugler’s website, where they are simply referred to as “spiral jeans.”
Other celebrities who have adopted the peekaboo thong include Hailey Baldwin, Jennifer Lopez, Bella Hadid, Beyoncé and Olivia Culpo.
The scandalous pants are just the latest daring model from the house of Mugler; Hadid, 24, donned a see-through jumpsuit with cutouts in the butt on the brand’s runway in 2019. The style was later worn on stage by Anwar Hadid’s girlfriend, Dua Lipa – who, incidentally, was is also a fan of the exposed thong.
Mugler’s latest show, which aired on YouTube on International Trans Visibility Day, also featured “Euphoria” star Hunter Schafer and “Pose” actress Dominique Jackson.
