Detroit Expands COVID Vaccination Capacity at TCF Center

STRAIT – The city of Detroit is in the process of adding immunization capacity to the TCF Center as it has received an influx of nominations due to expanded eligibility.

On Monday, the city announced that all residents of Detroit were eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. This means that any Detroit resident can call to make an appointment to be vaccinated at the TCF center.

The TCF Center will begin offering a room visit option to increase the daily immunization capacity from 5,000 doses per day to 8,000 per day starting next week. City workers can bring family members to the TCF for vaccinations on April 10.

  • Follow signs for the indoor vaccination site. Stairs and elevators are available.

  • Register. Once you’ve checked in, enter the ballroom and fill out your consent form.

  • Get your photo. Once you have received your vaccination, you will stay for a 15 minute observation period before you can leave.

City workers who plan to get the vaccine can also bring their immediate family with them to get the shot.
