Here at The Motley Fool, April 1 might just be our favorite day of the year. And pretty much every year since our company started in 1993, we’ve had an April Fool’s joke.
Our very first April Fool’s joke was Zeigletics, a penny invented to show the dangers of pumping and dumping systems.
A few years later, at the heart of the Internet bubble, we unveiled eMeringue, “the first meringue delivery service on the Internet”.
Our past jokes were opportunities to show the importance of focusing on the long term, staying disciplined as an investor, and avoiding getting caught in the headlines in the short term.
This April 1, however, we wanted to do something different. It has been a crazy year for the stock market and we are still in the midst of a pandemic.
