Borderlands 3to come up Director’s Cup The expansion brings a lot of updates, but the most exciting part combines two things players have been asking for for years: something to spend Eridium, and a way to re-roll gear bonuses.

Gearbox announced today this Borderlands 3 will get two new vending machines when the Director’s Cup the update falls next Thursday. While the legendary teleportation and storage secret black market looks good, the one I look forward to the most – or rather would be to be anxious to know if I was still actively playing the game – is the relaunch of Crazy Earl.

“Crazy Earl’s Reroll is a huge boon for vault hunters looking to get the most out of their gear,” Gearbox wrote. “By spending some of your precious Eridium, Crazy Earl’s contraption will replace the existing Anointing on an item.”

Anointings are among the most important equipment bonuses Borderlands 3. They add random effects to weapons, shields, and grenade mods, some of which are class-based and others beneficial regardless of which character you play. The game’s “Revenge of the Cartels” event, for example, caused weapons to drop with an anointing that increased damage by up to 300% on enemies at full health, resulting in absolutely destroy the bosses when used with certain pistols.

That said, most anointings offer more mundane bonuses, like small increases in movement speed or health steal, increasing the amount of time players have to spend on perfect gear. Now diehard Vault Hunters will just have to visit Crazy Earl’s Reroll and drop Eridium – which they most likely dragged in clusters after years of playing. Borderlands 3 with little else to spend it – to try out a better anointing.

In addition to these vending machines, the Director’s Cup The update adds a series of updated challenges and side missions, as well as a new raid boss, Hemovorous the Invincible, to Borderlands 3. It will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC, and Stadia on April 8.
