"I'm just hearing a big crash and, as I look, a crowd of people is coming in and this vehicle is overturned," said Belcher, "and my first instinct was to leave."

A man was lying near the overturned Jeep, his body halfway to the wreckage, reported MLive.com. About four people gathered to try to help.

"He was talking about his legs, how he could not feel his legs," Belcher told the site.

Belcher weighs 350 pounds, he told MLive, and squatted 950 pounds. But the black Cherokee Jeep weighed about two tons.

The 29-year-old has stuck his arms inside the car and "just grabbed it," he told Fox News, hoping to move the car that had him trapped against a speed limit sign.

Raising and pushing, Belcher used his weight to move the car about three feet, enough, he told the network, enough to free the man so others could shoot him. safe.

On the stroke of strength that allowed him to move the car, Belcher told Fox News: "Where it comes from, I can not tell you."

The man released from the car and a woman involved in the accident were transported to a hospital in critical condition, said MLive at the Huron Valley Ambulance. No deaths have been reported.

In an article published on Facebook Sunday, Belcher announced that he had gone to a hospital to meet the man released from his car, identified by MLive as being Montrell Tinsley, 36 years old.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office spokesman, Derrick Jackson, told the site that the Jeep had been stopped on Michigan Avenue when a second vehicle hit it from behind.

Belcher's son called him Hulk, he told WXYZ-TV. But he said he was worried about hero comparisons since Thursday's incident.

"To say that I am a hero, I do not know, but I am happy to have been there and I have been put there for a reason," he said.
