Conor McGregor was due for surgery Sunday morning to fix a broken shin bone after suffering a horrific leg injury during his fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 the night before.
The fight had to be stopped after only the first round when McGregor, whose left ankle bent at an acute angle, was unable to continue. Poirier later said he thought he felt it when McGregor broke his leg early in the first round.
