Very good, a quick update with some important news …
This should not surprise anyone because we've talked about it (and we've had it in our 4K Ultra HD Mailing List) for a few months now. But Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just officially defined Spider-Man: in the Spider-Verse for publication on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD on 3/19, the digital output being planned for 2/26.
It does not seem that the release of Blu-ray 3D is planned. You can see the cover on the left and below.
Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD versions will include Dolby Atmos audio. HDR10 is likely for 4K (the press release does not mention Dolby Vision). [Read on here…]
Blu-ray versions will include 5 new features (We are Spider-Man, Spider-Verse: A new dimension, The ultimate comic casting, A tribute to Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and Easter egg challenge to the super fan of Spider-Verse), a pair of Cartoon comic characters design featurettes (Heroes and hams and Scorpions and scoundrels), a Alternative Universe Mode viewing experience (featuring filmmakers), 2 Lyric Videos (Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee and Familia by Nicki Minaj & Anuel AA feat. Bantu), and the brand new original court Spider-Ham: caught in a ham.
In the other news, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will be coming out Archer: dangerous island on DVD only 4/2.
And in other news RLJE Films has put The clash at Sparrow Creek for publication in Blu-ray and DVD on 3/5. Supplements will include Making the stalemate at Sparrow Creek featurette and a photo gallery.
