Italy narrowly beat England on Sunday to win the European Championship.
This is Italy’s second European Championship and they did it with a 3-2 victory on penalties.

England’s Bukayo Saka had the opportunity to extend the shots on goal, but Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma managed to block the final shot to secure the victory.
Italy got penalties from Federico Bernardeschi, Leonardo Bonucci and Domenico Berardi.
England got penalties from Harry Kane and Harry Maguire and received a key save from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to give Saka the chance to continue the shots on goal.
Marcus Rashford had a great chance to put one in the net, but he came off the post.
But in vain.

England started the game in the lead very early.
Luke Shaw scored the fastest goal in the European Championship final. He got things going or England in the second minute of the game, passing Donnnarumma.
Shaw managed to circle a Kieran Trippier cross and score the goal.
England won in the first half and second half when Italy finally entered the chessboard.
Bonucci was in the right place at the right time in the 67th minute. He finished a mad race past England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to tie the game.
Bonucci’s goal would help send the game into overtime and later on penalties.
EURO 2020 FANS CREATE CHAOS BEFORE ENGLAND-ITALY FINAL
England had one of their best Euro runs in national team history. Since 2000, England had only reached the quarter-finals. The team was in the semifinals in 1996 and finished third in 1968.
Sunday represents a chance for England to win their first major trophy since 1966, when they won the World Cup.
Italy won the Euro in 1968 and were second in the tournament twice, in 2000 and 2012. The team finished in the quarter-finals in 2016.

England beat Denmark, Ukraine and Germany in the round of 16 to advance to the final. Italy beat Spain, Belgium and Austria on their way to the final.
