Apex Legends’ secret Octane buff confirmed that Respawn hasn’t announced

Apex Legends players have finally proven that Octane’s long-speculated health recharge buff is real and works slightly faster than expected.

Throughout Season 1, Octane was the first new Legend to be added to Apex Legends outside of the original character cast.

The Quick Daredevil was used by many players right away, as they tried to master it, but it slowly declined in popularity rank as new Legends were added.

In Season 7, Respawn finally made some long-awaited changes to Octane, making him a popular legend once again, as players use his speed to dive headfirst into battles.

Octane was added to Apex Legends in March 2019.

The main change to Octane is in its boost ability, doubling the healing rate from 0.5 HP per second to 1 HP per second. However, players have long believed this to be wrong.

Some have pointed out that they heal faster than that, but Respawn never attempted to clarify matters, stating that it was always 1 HP per second in the Chaos Theory event patch notes. .

Well after some testing Redditor guntassingh26 has shown that these theories are indeed correct and the Daredevil recovers health at around 1.5 HP per second instead.

With their theory proven, players quickly turned to the developers to clear things up, and maybe even nerf the legend over the error.

Others have suggested that he may have even slipped under Respawn’s radar and simply missed him on the switch.

It remains to be seen if the developers will do anything as a result, whether it’s to nerf the Legend or clarify what its recharge rate is actually meant to be.
