SALT LAKE CITY – One person was killed and four others were injured in a car crash in Salt Lake City on Sunday.

Just before 5 p.m., a white car and a black SUV collided at 900 West and North Temple.

The man driving the car died and two adults and two children in the SUV were taken to hospital. One was in critical condition but has since improved to “very serious”. Two sustained minor to moderate injuries, and the fourth person’s health was unknown.

Part of the Utah Transit Authority’s green TRAX line was closed between the crash and Salt Lake City International Airport. It is not yet known when it will be open again, but UTA has set up a bus bridge. The rest of the route is still in progress.

An accident reconstruction team is working to determine the cause of the crash, involving both SLC and UTA police.

This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
