Babbitt was with a group of rioters trying to break through the barricaded door to the Speaker’s Hall, which would have given them access to the House chamber and placed them within yards of lawmakers trying to evacuate.

She was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer as she attempted to climb through a broken window into the lobby. The incident was filmed.

The Justice Department cleared the officer of wrongdoing, concluding that he had acted in defense of other officers and members of Congress. The investigation was closed without charge or public identification of the police officer.

Bartiromo also praised Babbitt and said his family wanted answers on “why this wonderful woman, a young woman, who went to protest peacefully, was shot dead.” She then said, without citing evidence, that the security service of a “prominent member of Congress” may have been involved.

Babbitt shared numerous posts that featured QAnon slogans and theories, some of which claimed Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and other prominent politicians were involved in pedophilia.
