Miami-Dade Fire Rescue bade farewell to the Israel Defense Forces delegation on Sunday evening as they began their return journey following their assistance with search, rescue and recovery efforts during the collapse of the Champlain Towers building in Surfside, Florida.
“We wish them a safe flight home!” The agency tweeted with footage of an underwater salute held at Miami International Airport.
The latest dispatch comes after the unit was cheered on by local and federal task forces and family members of the Surfside victims, who were given the county key and were appointed honorary MDFR commanders on Saturday.
