A young Australian who calls himself “Pottery Boy” has captured the attention of thousands online with his pottery videos.
The 24-year-old from Melbourne told Daily Mail Australia his passion for pottery began three and a half years ago after taking a class with a friend.
The majority of the participants were over 60 years old, but Pottery Boy described the class as a “magical” experience and he was “shocked” at the fun.
“We sat around a table, drank tea and coffee and made clay pots,” he said.
Since winning over 20,000 people on social media, Pottery Boy has started his own “It’s Claytime” business selling DIY clay kits for the home.

After attending the class, he hired a potter’s wheel and now has two studios where he teaches the classes himself.
“I look for inspiration in the world around me, looking at objects and wondering what they would look like in jar form,” he said.
“It takes about 10-20 minutes to create the piece initially, and then there’s a lot of work behind the scenes as well.”
