The United States Men’s National Team opened the 2021 Gold Cup with a 1-0 victory over Haiti. The United States opened the scoring early thanks to Sam Vines’ first-ever international goal, but couldn’t rely on him throughout the night. I won’t be a game or a performance that everyone will talk about with admiration, but it’s a solid opening for the tournament.
