Elon Musk booked space travel with Virgin Galactic

You’d think Elon Musk and Richard Branson would hold a grudge against each other when they both have space tourism plans, but that’s not true – on the contrary, they’re surprisingly buddy-buddies. . Virgin Galactic told the the Wall Street newspaper in a statement that Musk bought a ticket aboard the company’s air rockets. It’s unclear exactly where the SpaceX founder is in the queue, but it’s safe to say his ride will grab some attention.

The feeling is mutual. In an interview with the Sunday opening hours, Branson said Musk was a “friend” and suggested he could fly a SpaceX spacecraft “someday”. He even went as far as Tweeter a photo showing him together with Musk.

Don’t expect that kind of warmth and camaraderie from Jeff Bezos. Blue Origin was more than keen to disparage Virgin ahead of their first fully crewed space flight, claiming that Branson and his team were simply grazing the edge of space. While the company later wished Branson a “happy flight,” we didn’t expect Bezos and Branson to have heart-to-heart coffee talks anytime soon.

It’s not a complete shock that Branson and Musk are so comfortable. No matter how good their personalities, the two are not quite direct competitors. Virgin Galactic primarily caters to space tourists happy with suborbital flights, while Virgin Orbit focuses on launching satellites for equipment that cannot justify expensive conventional rockets. SpaceX, meanwhile, has focused its tourism efforts on lunar flyovers and typically carries more expensive payloads into space. That’s not to say the two executives will start bickering if their businesses really overlap – don’t count on the positive vibes that last forever.
