Xbox Series S goes mobile with xScreen on Kickstarter

The Kickstarter campaign for the aptly named xScreen accessory is now live and has already achieved its pledge goal. The display is a simple addition and includes an 11.6-inch 1080p / 60Hz display and speakers to turn your Xbox Series S into a portable console.
While Xbox Cloud Gaming is a fantastic way to play your favorite games on the go via your mobile or tablet, the system is still in its infancy and only covers a selection of games. Hole in the market? Yes … potentially. In the slides, the xScreen, a new accessory for the Xbox Series S that helps turn the console into something of a portable system – you’ll still need to plug in your console, obviously. The xScreen is the brainchild of an Australian startup called UPspec Gaming, who originally designed it for themselves and their families. Now the team is aiming to get it out to a wider audience and have set up a Kickstarter campaign for the accessory in hopes of shipping production units in early 2022. At the time of release Writing, the crowdfunding race has another 24 days and has a pledge target of £ 6,997, which it has already beaten by around 870% (£ 60,915).

The xScreen is the same width and height as the Xbox Series S, allowing it to fold up over the top of the console like a laptop when not in use. It uses the same power as your console, so no additional cables are required and plugs directly into the Xbox Series S HDMI slot. The xScreen has an 11.6 inch 1080p / 60hz screen, speakers integrated stereo and a control box to adjust volume, brightness and display settings.
