Microsoft Teams gets ‘nostalgic’ backgrounds with Clippy and Solitaire

Microsoft Teams got a old fashioned makeover Thursday with the start of the return backgrounds. Images of the beloved Clippy paperclip and nostalgic Solitaire card game are among the backdrops available for your next Teams call.

Other scenes you can choose from include an animated image from Microsoft Paint and the serene hill shown in the default wallpaper for Windows XP in 2001.

You can download one of the four images on the Microsoft website today.

Microsoft last month unveiled some new features come to the teams. The updates, which will roll out in the coming months, aim to help the hybrid workforce as companies have started to reopen their offices following massive closures during the pandemic.

A feature, named First row, will place the remote participants of the call at the bottom of the screen so that they can be face to face with their colleagues in the office.
