A revamped iPad Mini “should be used” for this fall with “the biggest redesign of [its] nine years of history ”, according to Bloombergis the last of Mark Gurman Light up newsletter.
While the design of the iPad Mini has remained largely consistent since its initial release in 2012, the updated build is expected to include smaller bezels, an 8.4-inch display (an increase from its current screen of 7 , 9 inches), a faster processor and an all-screen layout without a home button similar to Apple’s new iPad Air released last year, MacRumors Remarks.
The forecast aligns with BloombergThe device’s initial report last month, which indicated that the tech giant would omit the traditional home button to maximize screen space. In keeping with a design reminiscent of the iPad Air, the new iPad Mini will likely feature a Touch ID sensor mounted on the power button on the side of the device.
The next iPad Mini will arrive as the 6th generation of the tablet, succeeding the 5th edition, equipped with a faster A12 processor and Apple Pencil compatibility, in 2019.
In addition to the new iPad Mini, Gurman said Apple is also developing a “larger and redesigned” version of the 27-inch iMac that will use more powerful Apple silicon processors.
