The Trump Organization has removed CFO Allen Weisselberg from his leadership role in dozens of the company’s subsidiaries.
News of Weisselberg’s withdrawal from other branches of the Trump Organization comes after the chief financial officer was fired as manager of one of former President Donald Trump’s golf courses in Scotland.
A day later, the company filed documents to dismiss Weisselberg as director of other subsidiaries in Florida, the Wall Street Journal first reported on Monday. The New York Times reported that the top financial manager was no longer listed in leadership roles in at least 20 subsidiaries, while the Washington Post reported Weisselberg had been removed from at least 40.
Earlier this month, Manhattan prosecutors indicted Weisselberg and two Trump Organization entities with 15 counts relating to a 15-year tax evasion scheme, including a fraud and robbery scheme. All three have pleaded not guilty. Weisselberg has worked for the Trump family since the 1970s and has gone on to become one of the most powerful executives in the Trump Organization outside of the immediate Trump family.
New York prosecutors accused Weisselberg and the Trump Organization of a “sweeping and bold payment plan” to evade income tax by hiding executive salaries, including more than $ 1.7 million of Weisselberg’s own income dating back to March 2005.
According to Florida State Department business records obtained by The Journal, one of the also accused companies, Trump Payroll Corp., had previously classified Weisselberg as treasurer, director, vice president and secretary.
In files filed last week, the eldest son of former President Donald Trump Jr. is now listed as executive vice president, director, secretary, treasurer and vice president. Trump’s other son, Eric Trump, is listed as president, director and president.
Representatives of the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
