The Google Pixel 6 series may be a few months away from official release, but we continue to learn something new about upcoming flagships every week. Recently, we found out what specs we can expect to find in the new devices, which also showed us what processor it can be powered on, and we’ve already shown you the official renderings of the new Google phones.
Google is not known to be a good secret keeper, their devices usually leak completely, months before launch. Today’s leak reveals the Google Pixel 6 Pro in actual photos (via GizmoChina). The image shows the device exactly as it is shown in the leaked renderings, although the two-tone red (or dew) color on the back looks paler, this may be due to the lighting conditions.
The screen looks large enough, but it’s hard to tell if it’s actually a P.OLED panel measured at 6.7 inches. The punch-hole selfie camera lines up, as does the rear camera setup. The back shows a large camera bump and the sensors can be clearly identified, one being the main shooter, a wide angle, and the periscope telephoto sensor in the rectangle. The back panel also appears to be glass, so it should have an aluminum frame, which should mean wireless charging as well, and possibly support for reverse wireless charging – assuming Google decides to keep it from the back panel. Pixel 5.
Everything we see matches perfectly with the renderings we’ve seen so far. The images appear to be the real deal, they even include the Google logo. Prototypes of Google Pixel devices often have a different logo to help differentiate and prevent the sale of prototypes, although that doesn’t prevent it entirely, as we’ve seen in the past.
Google is expected to release a normal Google Pixel 6 and the larger, as seen in the pictures, a Google Pixel 6 Pro device sometime in October. With a few more months to go, we’ll likely know a lot more about new devices in the weeks and months to come.
