Captain Marvel Early Buzz
Here's what a selection of reviews say about Marvel's latest offer:
#CaptainMarvel: Well, Thanos is screwed.

Captain Marvel is an explosion! A few cool surprises that I certainly have not seen coming, and the mystery / origin that it weaves is engaging and entertaining. Brie Larson is awesome and makes a fantastic first step in the MCU #CaptainMarvel pic.twitter.com/oqrRtgDQrp

Love the cat, like Sam Jackson, like Ben Mendelsohn, but honestly, I call Lashana Lynch as MVP. She brings to the film the emotional weight she needs and transforms the entire film upon her arrival. Definitely need to see more of her#CaptainMarvel pic.twitter.com/QeEzUBM8O1

Really liked #CaptainMarvel. It's sometimes a bit unstable, but only because it's so ambitious. It is beautifully built, hilarious and offers tons of surprises. @brielarson obviously reigns but Ben Mendelsohn is the surprise MVP. pic.twitter.com/yQLQGl2Yt0

And not weird wacky like GOTG movies. Think more "Rey in endless mirrors" of scenes of the type The Last Jedi. Finally, finally, the MCU and a song of Nirvana are gathered (as wished by Kurt Cobain)

I can not forget how great Ben Mendelsohn is. I was afraid he was just one of those Marvel villains with extra-terrestrial makeup, but that's not the case at all. This film does not work without him.

Captain Marvel is a mixed bag. The first half is slow and uninspired. Second half a lot better. It feels like administrators could not escape the Marvel formula. Mendelson steals the move. The full VfX effects of Marvel are much better than the trailers.

If I've generally liked most Marvel films, I have to admit that none of the movie trailers or TV spots Captain Marvel it really drove me crazy to see that. I was never worried about Brie Larson's performance – whoever saw Short term 12 or Piece know she has the goods – but I'm glad to see that apparently there are a few more things in the film than the trailers do. The fact that many critics have mentioned how surprising the film is is what I am passionate about, because we are always very attached to all the public aspects of these films from the moment they are announced. As an end of War of Infinity has shown, Marvel is still able to create a real shock for his audience, and it seems that he has some surprises in store with this one.
Captain Marvel is the first solo movie of the studio's superhero directed by a female character and the first film co-directed by a woman (Anna Boden headed with his managing partner Ryan Fleck). Here is the official synopsis of the film:
Based on the character of Marvel first appeared in 1968, the story follows Carol Danvers who becomes one of the most powerful heroes of the universe when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races . Located in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is a brand new adventure from an unprecedented period in the history of the Marvel film universe.
Captain Marvel fly in theaters on March 8, 2019.
