McLean said Spears “just had that glass face” because she didn’t seem to recognize him.

“I walked in, she was there, she looked me straight in the eye and I was like, ‘Hey, this is AJ,’ he said. ‘Like, she just didn’t know who was There. It took him a minute.

“And then she realized it was me, and we hugged and talked for a brief moment, but I could just see it wasn’t her.” Like, I’m not looking at the person I knew years and years ago.

McLean said he was upset to learn the details Spears spoke about when he appeared at a hearing last month. He said it really squeaks [his] gears’ after learning that Spears said she was unable to meet the friends she had met at an AA meeting.

McLean said: “It’s BS to me, because it’s all the heart of what we do in this program is fellowship.

“We lean on each other, we look at each other for support and… if someone took this from me, it would be really hard for me to stay sober, honest with God… [that] for her, honestly.

McLean said he was also unhappy with Spears’ statement in court that under the wardship she was required to keep an IUD as a form of birth control.

“For me, it is physical violence,” said the boy group member. “For me, this is all fair, it’s ludicrous. I really feel in my heart that she is going to break free from all of this, and I really hope she will. She’s a darling.

A hearing in the Spears case was scheduled to begin this week in Los Angeles.
