Film producer accused of running prostitution service

NEW YORK (AP) – A California film producer was arrested Thursday on an indictment in New York City accusing him of using a film production company to operate an international prostitution business.

Dillon Jordan, 49, of Arrowhead Lake, Calif., Was arrested in San Bernardino County, Calif. In an initial court appearance in Riverside, Calif., Jordan appeared by video and was released on $ 150,000 bail. A message requesting comment was sent to his lawyer, Peter Swarth.

“For years, Dillon Jordan operated an extensive and high-profile prostitution business through two shell companies – a purported party and event planning company and an actual film production company,” the lawyer said. Jordan is listed among dozens of producers on films, including the 2018 film “The Kindergarten Teacher,” which starred Maggie Gyllenhaal, and the 2019 film “The Kid,” which starred Ethan Hawke.

An indictment said Jordan, from 2010 to May 2017, kept a list of women who lived across the United States and performed sex acts for Jordan’s clients in exchange for money.

He said he coordinated with a UK based madam sharing and referring clients and prostitutes. The lady was not identified by name in court documents.

Sometimes, according to the indictment, Jordan would arrange transportation for women to engage in prostitution or order customers to organize interstate transportation.

He disguised the prostitution payments made by check to women by describing them as fees for modeling, appearance, consultation, massage therapy and house parties, according to the indictment.

To communicate with customers, Jordan used the email to discuss the price of prostitution services and to arrange transportation, authorities said.

As part of his bail conditions, Jordan was ordered not to contact any victims or anyone who could be witnesses in the case.

“They haven’t mentioned anyone’s name, so I don’t know who these people are,” Jordan told investigating magistrate Sheri Pym.

He was also ordered to turn his guns over to law enforcement and not to use drugs or marijuana. His home could also be the subject of random searches.

“Are they going to search my house at random?” Jordan asked. Then he said, “I agree.”

He said his legal name was Dillon Jordan, but the indictment stated that he also used aliases such as “Daniel Jordan”, “Daniel Maurice Hatton” and “Daniel Bohler”.

He was charged with conspiracy to violate Mann’s Law, incitement, money laundering and using interstate commerce to promote illegal activities.

FBI Special Agent George M. Crouch Jr. said anyone who has fallen victim to Jordan or has additional information should contact the FBI office in Newark, New Jersey.
