A prequel series to the iconic musical from the 1978 film Grease was picked up for 10 episodes on Paramount +.

Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies will trace the formation of the famous girl group from the original Broadway show and its film adaptation.

As the film follows its characters through their final year at Rydell High School, the show will show them as freshmen, Deadline revealed on Friday.

In the film, the Pink Ladies were a beloved cast of supporting characters whose nickname came from the color of their matching jackets.

Stockard Channing played her queen bee Rizzo who suffers from a crack in her sardonic exterior when she experiences a fear of pregnancy.

Didi Conn as Frenchy, Jamie Donnelly as Jan and Dinah Manoff as Marty made up the rest of the group Pink Ladies.

Although the film was released in 1978, it’s actually set exactly 20 years earlier and revolves around the ‘fatter’ youth culture of the 1950s.
