Bradley Beal will not play for the U.S. team at the Tokyo Olympics after going through health and safety protocols.
US team coach Gregg Popovich:
I’m dying for him. We are all. Since he was little, it’s one of his dreams. He was playing very well. He was having fun, being a big part of us coming together chemically and as a family. So for him and his family, his immediate family, it’s devastating. So we just feel awful about it.
If Beal is vaccinated, it is easy to feel terribly bad for him. He was so excited to play in the Olympics.
But if he chooses not to be vaccinated and contracts the coronavirus, there is a level of personal responsibility that comes with sympathy. It is still a bitter disappointment.
