Production on Season 2 of the hit Netflix series Bridgerton was interrupted for the second time in a week after another staff member tested positive for COVID, according to our partner site Deadline.
Production will be suspended indefinitely, according to reports, as the streamer and producers of Shondaland figure out how to continue amid the Delta variant of the virus, which is currently on the rise in the UK.
It’s still unclear if it was a cast member or team member who got infected this time around; according to Deadline, the individual is now isolated.
This is the second time this week that production has been halted due to COVID-related issues. Filming was suspended for 24 hours on Thursday after a crew member tested positive.
Production of season 2 began in May in London. Phoebe Dynevor returns for the rest of the series, but as previously stated, Regé-Jean Page is not.
In addition, Shelley Conn (New land) and Calam Lynch (Mrs. Wilson) have also joined the Season 2 set. Conn will play Mary Sharma, the daughter of an Earl whose marriage once led her family into scandal. According to the official character description, Lady Mary has now returned to London with her daughters and is being forced to undergo the ton’s scrutiny again. She is the stepmother of Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) new love, Kate Sharma, played by another Bridgerton novice Simone Ashley.
