Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor was placed on the 10-day injury list on Saturday due to a right oblique strain. Infielder Travis Blakenhorn was called up in a matching move.
Lindor left New York’s loss to the Pirates on Friday night with what the Mets called right-sided pain. The oblique strain is Lindor’s first major injury since being traded to the Mets and signed a 10-year, $ 341 million contract extension in the offseason.
Lindor’s injury comes as the Mets finally recovered all of their players in starting position on Friday with the activation of JD Davis off the injured list.
