Fox is once again trying to reinvent the song contest series by merging talent and technology for their upcoming show Alter Ego.
It was revealed on Friday that Grimes will be one of the judges for Alter Ego, alongside Alanis Morissette, will.i.am and Nick Lachey, while Rocsi Diaz will host.
Dubbed “The World’s First Avatar Singing Contest Series,” Alter Ego gives The Masked Singer a twist by using motion capture and visual effects technology to hide the identity of its competitors.

Alter Ego will feature “aspiring singers from all walks of life, not as themselves, but as their dream avatars,” according to the show’s press release.
Basically, the singers on the show will perform as their own avatar dream reinvention, or alter ego.
“Alter Ego is fusing talent and technology to revolutionize the singing contest show in a way Fox can do,” said Rob Wade, president of alternative entertainment and specials at FOX Entertainment.
“We are thrilled to bring together the fantastic will.i.am, Alanis, Grimes, Nick and Rocsi as they search for the next big song star, allowing incredible singers to make their dreams come true and perform like never before. . ”

Alter Ego marks the first appearances of a network competition series for Grimes and Morissette.
Morissette, who is best known for her wildly successful studio album Jagged Little Pill (1995), has a certain history with Fox, with a recurring role in the animated series Le Grand Nord.
Grimes (née Claire Elise Boucher), an experimental pop singer, first rose to prominence with her third studio album Visions (2012), but more recently she has made headlines around the world as a girlfriend. from SpaceX founder and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Grimes and Elon had a son they named X AE A-XII on May 4, 2020.

Will.i.am (born William James Adams Jr.), who is best known to fans as the frontman of Black Eyed Peas, has reality TV experience coaching the UK version of The Voice.
Lachey made his debut in the public eye as the lead singer of boy band 98 Degrees. He was featured on Fox’s The Masked Singer and he co-hosted the Love Is Blind reality series.
Alter Ego, which is produced by World Of Dance veteran Matilda Zoltowski, airs Wednesdays, after The Masked Singer, on Fox’s upcoming fall TV lineup.
