Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski is speaking out against shameful moms who have criticized her parenthood. The Gone Girl star and her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard welcomed their son Sylvester Apollo Bear on March 8.

In the expired Instagram story posted on Friday, Ratajkowski compared the scrutiny she faces as a new mother to the ‘bad mom’ in the headlines of pop star Britney Spears, currently in the midst of a heated battle of guardianship, has also been submitted over the years.

“We’re all thinking about shaming Britney and calling her a bad mother when she was driving with her baby on her lap,” the 30-year-old wrote in a photo of herself sitting in a car. “We’re talking about how we have to ‘do better’ as a culture. Meanwhile, my comments are filled with horrible remarks about how I don’t deserve to be a mom. Shame on you all.”

She continued, “I don’t care if you hate me or hate celebrity (or just hate women), but it’s incredibly scary being a parent and no one deserves strangers telling them that he’s a shitty mother. “

In June, Ratajkowski suffered a backlash online after posting a photo on Instagram of herself holding her baby, with commentators including British TV personality Piers Morgan accusing her of not carrying the baby properly.

Although she has since deleted the controversial photo, Ratajkowski has continued to receive sharp comments. For example, a more recent post shared on Father’s Day, which shows her cradling her baby in a drawing of her family, got responses such as “Finally a photo where you are holding the child properly.” Glad to see you got it “and” At least you hold the baby in a proper way in a painting to begin with. “

Ratajkowski is the latest famous mom to call out shameful moms, with Hilary Duff, Shawn Johnson East, and Jade Roper among those fighting back.

In 2019, Pink responded to “nasty” commentators by refusing to post pictures of her children online, though she has since resumed sharing family photos.

“I feel like I can change my mind,” she told Ellen DeGeneres of her efforts to occasionally respond to trolls. “I’m all about injustice. I don’t like injustice. I don’t care how brave, anonymous and rude people are! It’s just mean … mean. And so I do, I enter. If I have time, I’ll go in.
