Mat George, “She Rates Dogs” podcaster, killed in hit and run

A popular podcaster has been killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Los Angeles, relatives and officials have said.

Mat George, 26, who co-hosted the “She Rates Dogs” podcast, was fatally broke around 2:20 a.m. on Saturday morning as he crossed Croft Avenue in the Beverly Grove neighborhood of Los Angeles, CBS Los Angeles reported. Angeles.

“Mat was killed in a hit and run last night. I don’t really have any other words at the moment ”, her podcast co-host, Michaela Okland, wrote on Twitter.

“I wish I could contact anyone who knows him personally, but the news is out already and I just can’t do it at the moment.”

Police said the driver of a white BMW did not stop for George before continuing eastbound on Beverly Boulevard.

George, a graduate of Arizona State University, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Fans flooded social media this weekend with condolences and tributes.

“I didn’t know him at all, but his wacky tweets kept me smiling for long days. I am so sad that he is gone, and I am so sorry for the loss suffered by those who really knew him ”, a fan tweeted.
