Ubisoft will unveil a “brand new” game set in Tom Clancy’s universe tomorrow, Monday July 19, it has been announced.
“Tune in at 11:00 am PT / 8:00 pm CEST for the worldwide reveal of an all-new game in the Tom Clancy universe,” the publisher said Sunday.
The game could potentially be the new multiplayer PvP title named “BattleCat” that leaked to social media last month.
VGC understands that “BattleCat” is a first-person shooter targeting consoles and PCs, which is currently in the early stages of development.
On Sunday, the IGN publication released a short gameplay clip of the unannounced title:
According to leaked marketing materials, “BattleCat” combines the Splinter Cell, Ghost Reckon: Breakpoint, and Division games into a single Tom Clancy multiplayer title. Recently leaked footage shows Splinter Cell’s Echelon as playable characters, along with the Wolves of Breakpoint and the Cleaners and Outcasts of The Division.
Each character class has their own unique ability, the imagery asserts, such as Echelon’s radar stealth and Wolves extra armor, as well as an ultimate ability such as Outcast Divine Intervention, which prevents allies from being lost. near dying for a limited time.
Ubisoft previously combined its Tom Clancy properties with the mobile game Elite Squad, a free-to-play RPG shooter released last year, in which players assemble and upgrade heroes and villains from Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and more.
Ubisoft recently said it plans to release “high-quality free games on all of our biggest franchises across all platforms,” although it later said that “doesn’t mean” it will release less than premium games.
In May, the publisher announced Heartland, a spin-off separate from the free-to-play division, described as “a standalone experience” that will provide “a whole new perspective on the universe in a new setting.”
