Ryan LaMarre returned to the Yankees mix on Sunday, as he was recalled from Triple-A Scranton / Wilkes-Barre ahead of their series final against the Red Sox in the Bronx.
The move came after Tim Locastro was placed on the 10-day IL with what the Yankees called a right ACL injury.
Aaron Boone said Locastro tore the ACL on Saturday night after Locastro hit his knee while making a seizure in unfair territory in the first inning of their victory over Boston.
Tyler Wade replaced Locastro on Saturday, as the Yankees flock to the outfielder at a staggering rate.
Locastro – acquired in a trade from the Diamondbacks on July 1 to provide outside depth of field – joins Aaron Judge (COVID), Aaron Hicks (end of season wrist surgery), Clint Frazier (vision) and Miguel Andujar (wrist) on the IL.
The Yankees also recently called on Trey Amburgey and Greg Allen to help them out in the outfield and they even used Hoy Park – also referred to as SWB – in the outfield, despite his lack of experience there.
LaMarre played three games with the Yankees in May before being sidelined with a hamstring injury.
