Pokémon GO Fest 2021 has a special research quest that allows players to recruit Meloetta. The quest also features two variations of Pikachu: a rock star and a pop star. The annual celebration is live now, ending July 18, 2021 in the evening. So far, all of Pokémon GO’s Legendary Pokémon will appear in five-star raids on July 18.
The Mythical Pokémon featured this year is Meloetta. Since this is a branching quest, player choices will affect their rewards. Players will need to complete a questline titled The Melody Pokemon to get their Meloetta during Pokémon GO Fest 2021. Several branches require players to choose between Zigzagoon or Ponyta, Flygon or Gardevoir, and Pop Star Pikachu or Rock Star Pikachu. To unlock this quest, players must log in during the event and purchase a Pokémon GO Festival 2021 Ticket. After completing these two steps, players can complete the Special Research quest as they wish as it has no deadline.
For the game’s 5th anniversary, Niantic is organizing Pokémon GO Fest 2021 worldwide at a reduced price. While some goodies are free, most pay off behind a $ 5 ticket price (plus tax). Free content includes a special costumed Pikachu, raids, field research tasks, reduced hatching distance for eggs in incubators, and background music on the map composed by Junichi Masuda. Access to The Melody Pokemon quest requires a ticket.
Pokémon GO Fest 2021 is now live and will end on the evening of July 18, 2021. The game is free to download for Android and iOS devices. Niantic released another Pikachu theme a month ago with inspiration from Okinawa.
