Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson on Saturday asked his 5.6 million Twitter followers which crypto asset they prefer: bitcoin or ethereum. Tyson is no stranger to the crypto world and has just entered the realm of non-fungible tokenized (NFT) collectibles.

Iron Mike asks his fans: “Which do you prefer, Bitcoin or Ethereum?”

The former professional boxer, also known as “Kid Dynamite” and “Iron Mike,” tweeted about Bitcoin and Ethereum on Saturday and asked his followers which crypto asset they preferred. Tyson is quite familiar with bitcoin and on July 25, 2015 he tweeted about a bitcoin automatic teller machine (ATM) in his image. He also shared a website called miketysonbitcoin.com which is now offline. At the time, Tyson connected with a company called Bitcoin Direct LLC, but the company was quickly forgotten after a tragedy.

Most recently, Tyson partnered with full-service creative agency, NFT studio 1ofone. According to the announcement, Tyson will release their first official NFT collection with 1ofone in August and it will be available through opensea.io. The former heavyweight champion has collaborated with digital artist Cory Van Lew and the NFT collection will feature ‘iconic moments from his career’, unlockable content and a limited version as well.

“The more I learn about NFT, the more excited I am to be a part of the crypto / tech community,” Tyson said in a statement on the NFT project. “This is the future and I have chosen to partner with 1ofone to help me navigate the NFT community with something truly innovative and creative that tells a story about who I am.”

Tyson’s tweet on Saturday not only caught the attention of a large number of crypto supporters, but legendary rapper Busta Rhymes as well. Rhymes has also been intrigued by cryptocurrencies recently and tweeted his curiosity to his Twitter followers. After Tyson asks, “Which do you prefer, BTC or ETH?” Rimes replied and mentionned: “Mike, I’m here with you. I spent the last 30 minutes reading the comments section.

In the comments section of Tyson’s tweet, there are a myriad of responses from the crowd. Microstrategy CEO Michael Saylor replied and said, “Mike, I spent over a thousand hours thinking about this question and I chose bitcoin. So far I have bought $ 2.9 billion worth of BTC because I think this is the future of digital property. Even Twitter’s Jack Dorsey replied to Tyson and shared a website called hellobitco.in.

Tyson’s question sees a number of answers

Of course, a number of people have paid for other crypto assets and a wide variety of cryptocurrencies are mentioned in Tyson’s thread. The official Baby Doge Coin Twitter account mentionned: “Mike let’s talk #BabyDoge” with boxing glove and dog emoji. Paxful executive Ray Youssef also answered Tyson’s question. “It’s great to have you with us Mike,” commented Youssef. “Bitcoin is halal and peaceful, honest money.”

Youssef added:

[Ethereum] is a challenge platform which is an unauthorized protobank. Both have their place, but I hold the most in bitcoin and Africans use it every day to get out of economic apartheid.

Others simply implicit that Tyson didn’t have to choose if he owned both crypto assets. Of course, Tyson’s tweet also led a number of bitcoin fans and ether supporters to fight. most of which rod of the maximalist bitcoin crowd, while other fans of crypto assets have claimed that there are superior coins that Tyson did not mention.

Another individual mentionned: “ETH is a whole secure decentralized economy. BTC is [a] decentralized secure orange room. So I prefer ETH. The number of responses to Tyson’s question is very large and as Busta Rhymes said, one could easily spend thirty minutes reading them.
