After 4 years of waiting for new music, The Killers returned last year with Implosion of the mirage. But this period of containment at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic has proved fruitful for the group. The killers announced that theyrelease a new album, Pressure machine, August 13 via Island Records. the last record of Killers delved into frontman Brandon Flowers who established his roots in Las Vegas after leaving Utah. Pressure machine will return to Flowers’ childhood in Nephi, Utah.

“I discovered this grief that I had not faced. Many memories of my time in Nephi are fond. But those related to fear or great sadness were loaded with emotion, ”says Flowers in a press release. “I have more understanding now than when we started the band, and I hope I could do justice to those stories and lives in this small town where I grew up. Flowers began writing the album during the pandemic, embracing the “first time in a long time that [he] was faced with silence. He adds: “From that silence this record began to blossom, full of songs that would otherwise have been too quiet and drowned out by the sound of typical Killers records.”

When the killers making very specific home albums tends to work for them. Just look Sam’s town, a record in Las Vegas which was not appreciated enough at the time, but which holds some of the band’s songs that are now considered beloved classics—including “When You Were Young” and “Bones”. And, maybe not intentionally, but the black and white album art for Pressure machine definitely recalls the 2006 record. Is this the way for The Killers to teaser a return to this nostalgic era? While we don’t have a first single on the next album that would give us a good look at what’s to come, the band did.posted a 1-minute album trailer.
