The beach is meant to be for relaxation.
A man wading in the waters off the coast of Florida had a close encounter with a hammerhead shark. Fortunately, the large animal apparently lost interest in humans, but not after appearing to charge towards him.
Katie Van Bogart uploaded a video of the incident to her TikTok page, where she wrote that it was filmed on Friday morning in Panama City Beach. Since downloading the video, it has been viewed over 6 million times.

Suddenly, the shark appears to charge straight at the man, eliciting fearful screams from people watching the scene unfold from the beach. Fortunately, the shark breaks away and swims after approaching a few feet from the man.
At this point, he seems to realize that the shark is nearby, possibly from people shouting the word “shark” over and over again. He slowly begins to walk back towards the beach as the shark seems to move away.

According to a commentator on TikTok, the shark was actually chasing a fish and seemed to only charge towards humans. Another commenter replied that if this was the case, the best thing to do was to stand still, as the splash could confuse the shark and cause it to attack.
