Ubisoft’s New Project Tom Clancy is a free-to-play six-on-six arena shooter called XDefiant. And yes, the ‘XD’ combination is supposed to look like a laughing emoji. Sick!
Snark aside, it looks pretty fun, with customizable character classes that come equipped with different abilities and weapons. Ubisoft also says that the shooter has always been a top priority throughout development, so there is hope that XDefiant will perform particularly well. The game is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, but there is no release window yet.
However, without wanting to sound mean, it’s a bit … generic, right? And that certainly doesn’t seem to have much in common with the Tom Clancy brand that defined the tactical shooters of yore. What do you think of XDefiant? Don’t forget to reload in the comments section below.
