I come to you live from my office in a generally speechless state. My mind races, but the formation of the sentences is found in a rather dissimilar form. Problem is, I can’t keep track of my thoughts – everything I was going to open this article with has long since left my mind, as I am now wondering if writing this very article is putting me on the radar. from Boston Dynamics. If they’re as dystopian as they look, they’re almost surely compiling some sort of early defector list. John Connors potential, if you will. Leaders of the revolution, whose milk stain from this morning’s cereal on my t-shirt can tell you, I certainly am not (yet).

That’s where we’re at with Boston Dynamics, IMHO. How not to be ? We are the Internet generation – we, more than anyone, need to know the dangers of the rapidly evolving technology on which we increasingly depend. We are also the Terminator Generation, I imagine, I don’t know, 70% of the American population is, at the very least, aware of what the main features of these films are about: robots arise and overtake humanity. It’s almost as if James Cameron himself has been sent back in time to warn popular culture about the threats of artificial intelligence. Why do you think he has spent the last two decades living mostly underwater? Robots can’t get wet (don’t check this).

As my dad once told me – and as I hope yours once told you – if you’re going to fight, swing first, and I can’t help but think that we are at the edge of this territory. Maybe I should go full high school mode on that iron man two steps away and invite him to the local Applebee parking lot to shoot those. Either way, I’m already six steps ahead of the mini-Megatron here: if I die of a mysterious blunt trauma in the years to come, let that be the proof authorities need to launch. a survey in all artificial intelligence companies. because we are only half a decade away from a I robot reality.
