Skate 4 won’t be at EA Play Live, but here’s the behind the scenes

Update: Well, here is your first look at the new Skate game. Not really, it’s still incredibly early, of course – it’s pretty much behind the scenes. The video focuses on motion capture, as well as a few snippets of fan commentary. Check it out:

Looks like the game is going to be largely what we expected: an online open world where you can customize your character and interact with others while performing rad tricks. Hopefully we’ll get a better look at the project in production soon.

Original story: Last year, during Electronic Arts’ non-E3 presentation, EA Play Live, it was revealed that a new entry in the beloved Skate series was in development at a brand new studio, Full Circle. . That’s the extent of the public’s knowledge regarding this game right now, so it’s pretty clear that this thing is going to take some time. Anyone who’s hoping to see anything – anything – about this project may be disappointed to learn, then, that Skate won’t be showing up at the publisher’s showcase this week.

The developer took to social media to confirm the news, but with a silver lining at the end:

In his statement, Full Circle explains that he spent his first year building the team and getting into the game, but just “isn’t ready for prime time.” The studio says it’s “still early days and we’re committed to getting it right,” which sounds like a good attitude.

However, he continues by teasing that he will share “a little something” at some point today. It could be absolutely anything, especially considering how early things are. It will be something relatively small; a finalized title, a logo, maybe a conceptual artwork. Still, regardless, fans will be happy to get some sort of update. We’ll be sure to share anything when that happens.
