The beta versions of Android 12 have, for the most part, been fairly stable so far, but as with any early release, there are usually a few weird bugs throughout. In Android 12 Beta 3, an annoying hiccup on Pixel phones sees the missed call notification blocked, but Google is aware of it and plans to fix the issue.
If you are using the beta version of Android 12 on your primary smartphone, you may have noticed at this point that notifications from the dialer app may get stuck. Users have reported on Google’s Issue Tracker that most often missed call notifications come to Android 12 but get stuck at this point. Personally, I also encountered a notification asking if a call was blocked spam.
In the short term, the easiest way to fix this is to simply restart your phone. While swiping or opening the missed call notification won’t dismiss it, restarting your Pixel while it’s on Android 12 will fix things right away.
Additionally, it has been noted that Google is aware of this issue and plans to roll out the fix in the “next version of Android”. Presumably, this will come either in the form of an “Android 12 Beta 3.1” or in the fourth beta, which is expected to arrive in August.
This issue has been fixed and the fix will be available in the next version of Android.
