Yes, Jordan Peele’s next movie is called Nope

Critically acclaimed and Oscar-winning director Jordan Peele’s next “terror” is officially called No, according to a poster the director shared on Thursday. The details of the project remain (deliciously) shrouded in mystery, and you’ll have a bit more time to wait before you can see it for yourself – no is scheduled to hit theaters on July 22, 2022.

There is not a ton from the poster Peele tweeted, but it features an ominous dark cloud with what looks like a kite rope trailing behind. Peele’s tease from his latest film We was just as evocative and obtuse, so while there’s probably some meaning to be gained from a mysterious cloud rolling over a mountain town, it’s also nice to let the mystery be.

The new poster also confirms that the cast of no is as stacked as the film is mysterious. Steven Yeun and Daniel Kaluuya are rumored to be in talks to join the film in April 2021, but now their participation is confirmed. Keke Palmer was cast for the film in February in the lead female role. What exactly the three actors will have to do with a physical (and possibly metaphorical) cloud remains to be seen, but feel free to get your speculative weather engines to work while we start waiting for a trailer.
