The aunt of two children, aged 7 and 5, who were found dead in the trunk of a car during a traffic stop on Wednesday near Baltimore, had been driving with their dead bodies for months before being arrested.

Johnson told investigators she got angry with one of the children in May 2020 and hit her multiple times, causing the child to fall and hit her head. His body was placed in the suitcase, authorities said.
She said the other child was injured two months ago and never recovered and died. She put the two bodies in the trunk of her car. At the time of their deaths, Joshlyn Johnson weighed 18 pounds and O’Neil weighed 21 pounds.
Nicole Johnson said her sister gave her children to her because she couldn’t take care of them. She had moved with her children from Ohio to Maryland in July 2019, according to court documents.
