Popular Twitch Streamer and OTK Member Nick ‘nmpol’ Polom canceled his World of Warcraft subscription following Activision Blizzard’s recent lawsuit, which alleges allegations of sexual harassment within the company.
After being twice Rank 1 and 12 times Gladiator, a title that is awarded to 0.5% of World of Warcraft’s top arena teams, the popular Twitch streamer has now canceled their subscription.
It comes just two weeks after the streamer exposed numerous professional World of Warcraft players for racism and discrimination. At the same time, Nmp also called out the Blizzard saying, “They have huge egos, even though they’ve killed their entire player base. They do a terrible job, they don’t listen to player feedback. “
As many may know, this isn’t the only controversy that has revolved around Activision Blizzard in recent weeks. Currently, Activision Blizzard is being sued in California for cultivating a “perversive frat boy” culture where women in the workplace are sexually harassed and paid unequal pay.
The report that came out alleged that Activision Blizzard housed a workplace that “was akin to working in a fraternity house.”
Fans of Blizzard games around the world began to support the lawsuit, threatening to boycott games like Warzone and WoW, which Nick joined.
Just like when you cancel any other subscription, Nmp was asked why he wanted to cancel. In most cases, you would probably skip that and move on, but the streamer had a message they wanted to leave.
“First of all, I beat your game years ago. I am a gladiator 12 times, twice rank 1 and I don’t even have any reason to play anymore, ”he said. “You’ve also taken in casual gamers so poorly that I no longer have any incentive to play. Plus, your business is full of monsters… not all of them that have been exposed. Hope they read this and take it to heart.
A few minutes later, Nmp added, “I really hope for the worst for Blizzard’s entertainment. I don’t like them, I never did. So I really hope for the worst for them. Even before the allegations came out, they just had the biggest egos, they never listened to anyone.
Nmp isn’t the first streamer to stop playing Activision Blizzard titles. One example is the popular MMO streamer Asmongold moving from World of Warcraft to Final Fantasy XIV.
This is unlikely to be the latest case of content creators moving away from Activision Blizzard games either.
