First, Procter & Gamble appoints Indian COO global

CHENNAI / MUMBAI: Shailesh Jejurikar became the first Indian to be named Global COO of MNC Procter & Gamble (P&G) consumer products. Mumbai-born Jejurikar, 54, is an alumnus of Hyderabad Public School and has another famous global CEO, Satya Nadella of Microsoft, among his classmates.
Jejurikar is not the only occupant of the corner room in his family. Older brother Rajesh is Executive Director of Mahindra & Mahindra and also has a background in FMCG. “It is a matter of pride for all of us to see Indians rise through the ranks of global organizations,” said Rajesh Jejurika.
Shailesh Jejurikar is one of the handful of global business leaders born in India without an overseas degree. He obtained an MBA from IIMLucknow in 1989, soon after he joined P&G India as an Assistant Brand Manager (Personal Health).

Jejurikar’s rise was part of the P&G leadership succession announcement.
The Cincinnati-based company said Jon R Moeller, the current COO, will become the new president and CEO, effective November 1 of this year, succeeding David Taylor who will take over as P&G chairman to lead the board. kets directors (Latin America, India, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe), ”the company said.
