Apple Watch Series 7 appears on regulatory files ahead of September release

On schedule, Apple registered new Apple Watch models with the Eurasian Economic Commission. This precedes the rumor of the Apple Watch Series 7 being introduced in September with a new form factor, new design, and other changes.

As first spotted by Consomac, the new Apple Watch models referenced in the latest Eurasian Economic Commission filings are: A2473, A2474, A2475, A2476, A2477 and A2478.

It’s hard to discern too much detail in Apple model numbers, but the database records are often good indicators of release schedules. IPhone 13 models appeared in the Eurasian regulatory database in June.

In the past, this Eurasian database has revealed upcoming releases of Apple products, including the first Apple Silicon Macs last year, the iPhone 12, and more. Apple is required to submit these declarations to the EEC before the release of new products.

Last year, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 will feature some sort of redesign. Jon Prosser also reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 will feature a flat-rim design similar to the iPhone 12, iPad Pro, and iPad Air. Apple Watch Series 7 is rumored to be available for the first time in a new green color as well.

To finish, Bloomberg reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 will feature thinner bezels, a faster processor, and include “updated ultra-wideband functionality.” This would represent the first major design of the Apple Watch since Series 4, released in 2018. Apple also reportedly aimed to include a body temperature sensor, but this feature may have been delayed until Watch 2022. .
